If you want to earn high rankings in Google search results, you first need to understand how Google ranks its search results. If you are designing your website yourself and mess up the coding in your website, Google spiders won’t be able to read your site efficiently and this can hurt your rankings significantly. See what keywords are most popular in each country you’re targeting, and optimise the pages on that country’s section of your website accordingly. Also, remember that even a correct and accurate translation of a keyword or term may not be what people actually use to search for a product or service locally. Modern link-building focuses on high-quality, original content that provides value to users and incorporates an involved audience.

Use a better caching plugin

Did you know that there are hundreds of reporters out there looking for expert advice? If you’re good enough, you can be featured on big sites like Wall Street Journal and Forbes with a link pointing back to your blog. To gain visibility across search engines (think 'universal' or blended search), as well as relevant blogs, forums, online media and social networks, whilst being compelling enough, where relevant, to be shared by the target audience. The length of your posts is also an important consideration. Back in the days of spammy-SEO, almost every post was 500 words long. Today, you’ll have the most success by writing posts that are longer and more in-depth. Imagine that your reader is going to sit down with a cup of tea and really dive deep into the subject – that’s the kind of experience that you should be delivering! Keep your sentences short. Make sure that no more than 25% of your sentences contain more than 20 words. Also, keep your paragraphs short. Make sure each paragraph doesn’t exceed the recommended maximum of 150 words.

The next step is often forgotten

Most modern SEO agencies will continue to proclaim that "content is king" (and in my opinion, it truly is). But being king is nothing without a kingdom. Like a tree falling with nobody around to hear it, good content with nobody around to read it is useless. Does the website that is linking back to your website relate to your business? Make sure there is a strong relevance when acquiring backlinks. While building backlinks, developing your social media presence, and other off-site practices are great for boosting your site’s rankings, on-page optimization is still incredibly important. When working on your website, put the user first. Without them your site is worthless. Don’t bother with ‘shortcuts’. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Filter your keywords to those that have only a few visitors

As an owner or stakeholder in a website, you must take the time to discover content, evaluate that content, and implement a link to it on a webpage. Once you have completed your initial keyword research, review your keywords to identify which are most relevant for your business and which have the highest volume. Submit your site to authority websites in your category

If you are going to use freelancers, beware of duplicate content. Always make sure to check the content that you get by searching for the content on Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
