Putting your individuality and personality across throughout the off-site SEO process (outreach emails, guest posts, social shares, etc.) makes others more likely to engage with you. Craft your unique selling proposition (USP) based on your own personality and the way you can best solve your customers’ problems. Fast web pages are good for your website visitors. They are also good for search engines. Google prefers fast-loading web pages. Google cares deeply about the indexed age of both your site and its content. A brand new site that's a newcomer to Google is going to have a far harder time ranking on its SERPs than a site that has indexed age. Having a different description meta tag for each page helps both users and Google, especially in searches where users may bring up multiple pages on your domain (e.g. searches using the site: operator).

The bottom navigation bar is an anchor link bonanza

Most people look at SEO the wrong way. They look at ways to do the least amount of work for the greatest initial return, when in fact, it's quite the opposite. With all the signals in the Google algorithm – and there are hundreds of them – why would links still be so valuable as a signal? When you are trying to get more links you need to think about quality, not all links are created equal and links from low quality sites will have little or no impact on your rankings. The sites that Google will rank highest for a particular search term are the ones that appear the most relevant and that have the best content and best design. At the same time though, they will also be the ones that have the most trust. This means that Google considers them an authoritative resource and expects the information on their site to be accurate and well-written.

Most webmasters believe Google crawls their website in one go and will continue until everything’s crawled. Focus on building trust as opposed to trying to bend and break the rules. Images, videos, slideshows and audio act as a signal of quality content to search engines… after all, you have put in the work to make your content look good and interactive! Forget dense blocks of text with no images. Instead, create content with lots of headers, that’s well spaced out and that uses large beautiful pictures throughout. In terms of the actual writing, try to use a narrative structure where possible to really pull people in. Tell a story, use cliff hangers and make it impossible for your visitors not to move down to the next line!

Content distribution best practices

Internal backlinks essentially connect two pages or posts to each other. This can be done a couple of different ways – by text or image content. It is more common to link via text than images due to the fact that it flows more naturally. Social platform optimization - Your linkeraiti and my linkeraiti are two entirely separate groups that find content on two entirely different platforms. Whether it's Twitter, LinkedIn, or a niche news site (ex. Inbound.org), you need to find the right place that gets your content in front of the right people. If you find that your backlinks are mainly coming from a small pool of domains, look at a way to diversify your backlink strategy to get links from a greater variety of domains. Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, recently commented: "Technology is an important part of the user experience equation. In addition to providing audiences with helpful and informative content, you’ll want to make sure that your website is easy and enjoyable to browse. Make sure to optimize your website to be mobile friendly and to ensure that it has a quick load time."

On the internet, the de facto “language” of structured data is schema.org. Schema.org is a democratic library of internet things. User-generated content (UGC) sites and communities are two of my favourite places to find untapped keywords. There are two key choices to make when setting up a new website: your web host and your domain name. Many business owners give little thought to either. However, a sound house is built on good foundations and these two areas have a greater significance to SEO than you might think. The number of referring individual domains linking to your website or webpage is a very important factor in Google’s algorithm.
